I just found instructions on how to install and play GTA:Vice City using Wine in Ubuntu (and probably most versions of linux). And it works great! I just got done playing it for 30 minutes or so without any issues! Next up is getting a USB gamepad and see if that works.

The only thing I had to do was find a no-cd crack on megagames, the link in the forum above didn't work for me.
Here's another good link, this shows you how to get the latest version of wine. The version in the Ubuntu repository tends to be out of date.
