Several small tournaments.

This way we, hopefully, will have people hanging out longer. If we have 1 big tournament, I am afraid, ppl will just show up for it and leave....just my 2c.

What we have seen work well at lans in the past are the staples.

Counterstrike Source
Unreal Tournament 2004 (low grav instagib my personal favorite)
Team Fortress 2
even some old school Quake 3
RTS games are usually popular but usually not my cup of tea.
Warcraft 3
Starcraft
Red Alert



What I would love to see that's new

Left 4 Dead is a must Maybe even 2 winners 1 for best survivors 1 for best infected.

We always liked to throw in a few Non Gaming related things as well.

The Keyboard smash was a great deal of fun as seen here.

Just got some new Keyboards and anyone who wanted one had to destroy their old one.

Also hard drive hockey was fun.

Setup a goal and got a stick and any one who could make the goal from a certain line got a prize.
